Hello lovely blog readers! I have finally come out of yet another blogging hiatus. I believe for the future months, it will be more realistic for me to post 1 to 2 times a month rather than every week. This way I have more exciting photos and things to share with all of you :)

November was a BUSY month. I unfortunately had to move out of my flat and leave the beloved Johnny.

After going on eleven housing interviews (yes, the Berlin housing market is quite competitive and difficult), I was able to find my current flat and wonderful flatmate! I moved at the beginning of December and have been settling in nicely. In addition to finding a new flat, I had the task of finding and buying furniture. However, everything in my room, except the mattress and sheets, I got for free! There are phenomenal Facebook groups called "Free Your Stuff Berlin" where I was able to obtain my wardrobe, bookshelf, and many other items from others. While the Berlin housing market is competitive, there is also constant turnover, meaning people are constantly looking to get rid of things. I will say, though, one of my first things I bought–even before I bought a mattress–was a milk frother. This obviously shows where my priorities lie :) Also pictured is my first meal with my roommate! She and I are both vegan, and we share the love of food and cooking, so after moving in, we made a stir fry! I could not be more thankful for her because she constantly gives me both new ideas to challenge my ways of thinking (she usually has a video for that :) ) and partakes in positive and thoughtful discussions with me, giving me encouragement for the day!

The fact that it's already December and approaching the end of the year is bizarre for me - it feels as if I just moved to Berlin! I am currently writing this blog post from the airport because for the rest of this month, I will be spending the holidays with my family. I was not able to spend Thanksgiving with them, but thankfully I have Fulbright family and friends here who were able to celebrate the holiday with me. And I received a few cards for the occasion, including this one from my mom.

And of course, I cannot forget about the Christmas markets and Christmas baking over the past few weeks! As many of you may know, Germany celebrates the holidays with Christmas or Weihnachtsmarkts all throughout the country. Even with in Berlin, there are numerous markets on every corner. I had Glühwein, Lebkuchen (type of gingerbread), and plenty of other snacks. Each market has stalls specific to that location, with hand knitted toys, icing covered hearts, and handcrafted ornaments. My suitcase coming home is actually filled mostly with gifts for family! The cookies are supposed to be for the family as well, but I don't know if they will make it through the flight...The star shapes are homemade Lebkuchen!

That's it for now!

As always, I'm so thankful for all of you for reading my blog posts, and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Cheers!
